Highly recommended for highly mobile people; extremely convenient and versatile; Now, I can't go anywhere without this.
Comes with provisions to perma-mount it in your car.4). 1). This little charger is an awesome buy for many reasons. Fuse on back of device, convenient to access.5). It's very solidly built.2). Dual 12V VPA and dual USB3). The manufacturer encourages permanently mounting it in owner's manual.Retailer Gizmoco shipped it Friday, got here Monday. I highly recommend both this seller and the product.
The chord is extra long so you can mount the charger anywhere3. Good luck finding a better one. The build quality is top-notch. After researching and reviewing numerous chargers I selected this based on other feedback.so glad I did.1. Has a two prong fuse in the back for easy replacing should it blow out2. You can Velcro it or add the two tabs and screw it in4. Will fit ANY cigarette lighter port no matter which car you haveSave the search time and go with this one.VERY nice unit.
I'm also impressed that they put an extra fuse on the inside of the device in case someone tries to put a bigger fuse into the thing to get more power.Looks like a very well constructed product for the price. As my review title explains, this will power the latest generations of iPod via the USB port. Otherwise it's a nice length.
not much to say. Nice product.
For that purpose, the included cable is a little short (about 40") if you need to custom route it. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the springy (+) tip to plug into my car's socket isn't very springy, and at first the thing wouldn't stay in the socket.
I intend to hardwire though. The product easily opens up and it looks like a power cord replacement is a simple solder job even for a novice like myself.
I successfully tried both a synching cable and a "charging only" cable.
I haven't tried two devices plugged in at the same time. Most importantly, the charger doesn't get noticeably hot, and the cable is of a decent gauge. Often times items such as this Vehicle Charger supply something short of USB 2.0 specified 5v, as many devices are willing to accept 4.5.Surprise. I originally bought this just to add an additional 12 socket to a car that woefully needs more of them.Yes, I noticed the USB ports and figured they were a value add that wouldn't work with my demanding devices: a blackberry and a zune that both DEMAND 5V usb ports. You can mount the unit either with velcro with adhesive backing, or direcly screw it to a surface. Full 5V. At least when one usb port is used at a time. The fuse is easy to get to if you ever have to replace it.Very very pleased with this purchase. I've been using it for a couple of months now with no complaints.
